Japan to develop new and efficient deep ultraviolet germicidal LED lights

Chemical Company of Japan, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Tokuyama research team successfully developed a new efficient deep UV germicidal LED lights, and compared to conventional low-pressure mercury lamp, with a small size, energy saving, environmental protection, long life and other advantages.

Brightness of LED lights of the wavelength of about 260 nm deep ultraviolet light, the light-emitting efficiency and lifetime by the influence of the substrate crystal. To thereby obtain the current high performance substrate crystal, and to ensure the sterilizing effect and lifetime of the LED lamp.

The new Deep UV LED lights only use dry batteries will be able to work, can be used for portable sterilization device, and culture medium sterilization. This technology has been made in Japan and the United States the basic patent. Tokuyama Chemical Company plans to further improve product performance, and strive for the products to market in 2015.

It is reported that, in the field of medical care and food, often using a low-pressure mercury lamp sterilization, mercury easily cause harm to the environment, so researchers have been hoping to find excellent environmentally friendly alternative. The Deep Ultraviolet is a relatively short wavelength ultraviolet light, high efficiency to kill bacteria and viruses.
